TYPES OF WORK PERMITS AND VISAS IN MALAYSIA

EMPLOYMENT PASS I
Requirements
- Hiring company is registered with the Expatriate Services Division (ESD)
- Employees’ Basic monthly salary is at least RM 10,000
- Up to 5 years of valid employment contract in Malaysia
- Proof of highest educational certificate or equivalent working experience
- Spouse and Children (below 18 years old) are eligible for Dependent Pass
- Renewable based on certain requirements

EMPLOYMENT PASS II
Requirements
- Hiring company is registered with the Expatriate Services Division (ESD)
- Employees’ Basic monthly salary is between RM 5,000 and RM 9,999
- Maximum 2 years of valid employment contract in Malaysia
- Proof of highest educational certificate or equivalent working experience
- Spouse and Children (below 18 years old) are eligible for Dependent Passes
- Renewable based on certain requirements

EMPLOYMENT PASS III
Requirements
- Hiring company is registered with the Expatriate Services Division (ESD)
- Employees’ Basic monthly salary is between RM 3,000 and RM 4,999
- Maximum 1 year of valid employment
- Proof of highest educational certificate or equivalent working experience
- Spouse and Children (below 18 years old) are NOT eligible for Dependent Pass
- Can be renewed 2 times at most (subject to review)
- Needs approval from the KDN (in Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs)

PROFESSIONAL VISIT PASS (PVP) / TRAINING PASS
Requirements
- Your Malaysia based company is registered with the Expatriate Services Division (ESD)
- PVP’s allow for short term Assignments or Internships for learning on-the-job or to provide temporary technical support to your customers in Malaysia
- Professional Visit Passes can also be used for staff to give training or to receive training with a company located in Malaysia
- PVP Passes can last for a period of up to 12 months

RESIDENCE PASS-TALENT BY TALENTCORP
Requirements
- Applicant needs to have worked in Malaysia for at least 3 years.
- Holds a valid Employment Pass at the time of application.
- Holds a PhD /Masters/ Degree or Diploma in any discipline from a recognized university or a professional / competency certificate from a recognized professional institute.
- Possesses at least 5 years of total work experience.
- Earns a basic monthly salary of at least RM15,000.
- Has an income tax file number in Malaysia and has paid income tax for at least 2 years.

DEPENDENT PASS
- Legal spouse of an Employment Pass Holder
- Children below 18 years old of an Employment Pass Holder
- NOT eligible to convert to an Employment Pass

GUARDIAN PASS
- Immediate parent of a person studying in Malaysia
- NOT eligible to convert to an Employment Pass

STUDENT PASS
- A pass for Expatriates’ children who are studying at an International School in Malaysia.
- A Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) will be issued for ease of travel between Malaysia and their home country.
